People from all walks of life seek therapy, regardless of their background. Last of the Leaves Therapy is there for anyone who is facing difficult times; looking to explore and resolve problems, experiencing concerns and needing support or guidance; or needs to talk to an empathetic listener.
The NCPS estimate the cost of therapy to be between £40-£80 per session. My mission at Last of the Leaves Therapy is to offer a fair price for therapy sessions. Therefore you can expect to have a FREE initial consultation and subsequent individual booked sessions are £30.
You can book an appointment by calling, emailing or by filling out the online contact form.
It is possible to feel slightly apprehensive when meeting a therapist for the first time. Rest assured this is understandable and any therapist will do their best to put you at ease.
At the initial consultation, with me, it is an opportunity for me to tell you all about the practical information you need to know and and I will go through the working agreement as well as having a discussion about:
This is also your opportunity to ask me anything else you want to know about the experience of therapy and to tell me about your own goals for looking into having therapy.
Most importantly, this time is a chance to decide if you will feel comfortable working with me.
Choosing a therapist is very personal and I recommend, if possible, to see several before choosing who you want to work with to make sure you click.
Counselling tends to focus on exploring and searching for solutions for a current concern or problem, often within a limited number of sessions. Over a certain number of weeks, the aim is to improve awareness and understanding so that a way forward becomes clear.
Therapy differs in that it focuses on work that goes a bit deeper, exploring more substantial life issues and concerns that have a wider and deeper effect on a client’s life. Therapy often requires a longer-term approach, meaning sessions can be open-ended.
Which option is most suitable depends on the individual and the specific difficulties they are facing.
In some instances, counselling works well as an ongoing, longer-term option bringing focus to current and changing daily concerns. Likewise, therapy work can manage to resolve an issue in just a few sessions.
Fundamentally it is all subjective, therefore the approach at Last of the Leaves Therapy is flexible and will move at the pace of the clients needs.
